Ingrients & Directions

2 c Flour
1/4 ts Salt
1 tb Baking powder
1/4 c Vegetable shortening
2/3 c Milk
1 tb Sugar
1 tb Favorite dried herb

Directions: Preheat oven to 450 degrees. In a large bowl, combine flour,
salt and baking powder. Add shortening and work with mixture using a fork
or fingertips until it resembles coarse crumbs. Combine the milk, sugar and
herbs. Slowly stir in milk mixture using a fork. The mixture should form a
soft dough. You may not need to use all of the milk – do not make a sticky
dough. Gather up the dough and place on floured surface. Knead gently 8-10
times. Roll out dough to 1/2? thick. Cut with biscuit or cookie cutter.
Place on ungreased baking sheet and bake 8-10 minutes until golden brown.
