Ingrients & Directions


2 c Flour
1 1/2 c Sugar
1 ts Salt
1 ts Baking soda
1 ts Cinnamon
1 ts Nutmeg
1/4 ts Cloves; ground
3 Eggs
1 c Fig preserves
1 c Oil
1 c Buttermilk
1 tb Vanilla

-GLAZE-
1/2 Stick butter; (1/4 cup)
1/2 c Sugar
1 tb Light corn syrup
1/4 ts Baking soda

Heat oven to 325 F. Combine cake ingredients and mix well. Pour into a
9×13″ greased cake pan; bake for 45 minutes. Make glaze by combining
ingredients and boiling for 3 minutes. Pour over cake while cake is warm.
May be served with whipped cream or whipped topping or plain. Note:
applesauce may be substitute for fig preserves. The Greeks Have a Recipe
