Ingrients & Directions

1 c Lukewarm water

2 pk Yeast

1/2 c Mashed potatoes
1 c Sugar
2 ts Salt
2/3 c Shortning or butter
2 c Flour (up to 3)
5 c Flour (more) (up to 6)

(can be made into buns, also)

In large bowl add water, 1/2 tsp sugar and yeast. Stir and let set 10
minutes. Add potato water, potatoes, sugar, salt and shortening. Stir, then
add flour. Beat this till smooth with elec. mixer To this add enough flour
to make a medium stiff dough (5-6 more cups of flour)

Let rise twice, kneading after each rise. Shape into 3 loaves or buns. Let
rise again and bake about 12 minutes at 375. or until nicely browned.

Optional: brush with egg whites and sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired
before baking.

hope you enjoy it! My family loves this bread (would like to try it in a
bread machine-if anyone does-let me know how it turns out-I think it would
have to be cut down to 1/2 at least)
