Plum Cake

Ingrients & Directions


1 1/2 lb Butter
1 lb Sugar
12 Eggs
1 lb Flour
3 lb Raisins
1 1/2 lb Currants
1/2 lb Citron peel
1/2 lb Lemon peel
1 ts Cinnamon
1 ts Allspice
1/2 ts Mace
1/2 ts Clove
1 Nutmeg,grated
3 tb Strawberry jam
1/2 lb Almonds
1 lb Dates
1 tb Baking powder

Directions: This is a copy of my grandmother’s handwritten recipe,
from the first quarter of this century. As with most of her other
recipes, there are no directions for either mixing or baking.
