Ingrients & Directions


1/2 c Butter or margarine 1 3/4 c Cashews — salted halves
1 c Packed brown sugar Brown Butter Frosting:
1 ea Egg 1/2 c Butter — no substitutes
1/3 c Sour cream 3 tb Light cream
1/2 ts Vanilla extract 1/4 ts Vanilla extract
2 c All-purpose flour 2 c Confectioner’s sugar
3/4 ts Baking powder Additional cashew halves, —
3/4 ts Baking soda Optional
3/4 ts Salt

In a mixing bowl, cream the butter and brown sugar. Beat in egg, sour
cream and vanilla; Beat in egg, sour cream and vanilla; mix well.
Combine dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture and mix wll. Fold in
the cashews. Drop by rounded teaspoonfuls onto greased baking sheets.
Bake at 375 deg. for 8-10 min. or until lightly browned. Cool on a
wire rack. For the frosting. lightly brown butter in a small
saucepan. Remove from the heat; add cream and banilla. Beat in
confectioner”s sugar until smooth and thick. Frost cookies. Top each
with a cashew half if desired. Yield: about 3 dozen.
