Ingrients & Directions


1/2 c Shortening
1 1/2 c Sugar
2 Eggs; beaten
1/2 c Buttermilk
1 ts Baking soda
1 c Mashed bananas
2 c Flour
1/2 c Chopped nuts

-ICING-
1 c Brown sugar
1 Stick butter or margarine
1/4 c Milk
Powdered sugar

Mix together shortening, sugar & eggs. Add buttermilk, soda, mashed
bananas, flour & nuts. Mix well & bake slowly at 350 until done. Makes 3
layers. When cool, top with icing. ICING: Boil brown sugar & butter until
it melts. Add milk. Cook 1 minute. Cool. Add enough powdered sugar to make
desired spreading consistency.
