Pie Dough (pate Brise)

Ingrients & Directions


3/4 c Butter (1 1/2 sticks)
3/4 c Shortening
1/4 c Granulated sugar
1 tb Salt
4 c All purpose flour
1/2 c Very cold water

Cream butter, shortening, sugar, and salt until blended. Add flour
all at once and cut with a fork until mix forms lumps. Add water all
at once and quickly mix until dough can be gathered into a soft ball.
Form ball into “patty” approximately 1-inch thick. Wrap in plastic
and refrigerate until very cold. Dough can be frozen.
